Vietnamese ethnic groups’ cultural village makes its debut on Millennium anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi. Deputy prime minister Nguyen Sinh Hung, Deputy minister Ho Anh Tuan – Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Chairman of Hanoi, Mr Nguyen The Thao took part in the ceremony and cut the inauguration band. Cultural village is located on a large, beautiful location, Dong Mo – Ba Vi ecological tourist area. This is a miniature architecture that manifests specific characteristics of 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam. It’s a destination for those who would like to explore Vietnamese cultures as well as introduce foreigners Vietnamese tradition.
The ground breaking ceremony of Long Thanh stop place
After the success of Mekong stop place, the ground breaking ceremony of Long Thanh took place last September at Tam Phuoc – An Phuoc (Long Thanh, Dong Nai) on the cover area of 7 ha and a total capital of over VND 100 billion. Trung Thuy group JSC and Dong Nai food industry corporation (Dofico) are investors of this project. Long Thanh, a “green – clean – comfort & quality” stop place of Southeast, will be an ideal location for domestic and foreign visitors. In addition, the project promises to develop the “new administrative area” of Dong Nai province.
Full moon festival at Sheraton Hanoi Hotel
Sheraton Hanoi Hotel has held the full moon festival with a variety of traditional activities such as lion dances, making children’s toys, sticky rice cakes and performing fireworks from 6p.m to 9:30p.m on September 21st, 2010. Especially, the hotel has contributed to the UNICEF fund the total benefit of the show. Charitable fundraising for UNICEF fund for helping poor children in developing countries is an annual activity of the Sheraton Hanoi hotel. Movenpick Saigon Hotel makes its debut
Last month, Movenpick Saigon Hotel, a member of Movenpick Switzerland hotels & resorts, officially made its debut. The hotel was designed in a new style with a purple, gray and large anteroom. 27 suites were rebuilt in the total 278 rooms, including 5 categories: Deluxe, Premium, Family, Executive and Club and 6 separated rooms for businesswomen. In addition, restaurants in the hotel such as Japanese Iki restaurant, Banian Tree Café, Bar, Spa and Meeting Hall offer remarkable cuisine. The total amount of investment money is about USD $15million.
Fusion Maia and Boutique Hoi An Resorts make their debut
Five-star Fusion Maia and four-star Boutique Hoi An, two original hotels in the coastal centre of Vietnam are going to make their debut. Fusion Maia Danang – the first and unique tourist site in Asia – is the combination between hospitality and spa. Pandanus resort Golf Tournament – 2010
Last month, Pandanus resort held the first golf championship at Golf Sealink course with the aim of offering golfers and their families a chance to compete and relax at weekend and towards yearly traditional golf competition to raise a charity fund for Ninh Thuan province. The prize attracted 130 participants. All the amount of money obtained was given to Ninh Thuan province to buy ambulances.
Oktoberfest beer festival in Ho Chi Minh city
The sixth Oktoberfest beer festival 2010 will taken place at Windsor Plaza Saigon. With its truly German style, last Oktoberfest attracted more than 12,000 guests. This year, Bavarian music band will appear in jubilant festival with traditional rocks. Participants will have the opportunity to get a commemorative glass of the festival and many lucky gifts from drawing lots and especially, take part in many German traditional games. In addition, visitors can enjoy German specialties such as sausages, salted cabbages, ham, cookies and potatoes and try champagne and German fruity wine.
Mid-autumn festival for charity at Equatorial
To bring a happy festival for poor and less fortunate children, last month, Equatorial hotel organized “yearly painting exhibition for charity”. Over 100 paintings describing children’s happiness and joy on Mid-autumn festival were shown at the exhibition. Pictures were painted by little kids from Ho Chi Minh Education and Training Center, Anh Minh school and Hy Vong 1 school. Also on this occasion, 100 presents including cookies, moon cakes and lanterns were given to the children. On September 20th, the hotel visited and presented gifts to the elderly and disabled children at Thanh Loc Center under Ho Chi Minh Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Welfare.
Developing tourism going abreast protecting environment
Last September 25th, the 11th Guide Award held by Vietnam Economics Newspaper took place at Furama Resort. 125 hotels, resorts, restaurants and tourist agents had the honor of getting awards for their achievements and solutions as well as raising people’s awareness of protecting environment. The award was based on the recommendations and votes of tourists and online audiences for over a year. Especially, this year, 12 concerns, which has contributed to a green future for tourism, were rewarded “Green lotus”. The Guide Awards founded in 1999 aims to award excellent tourism-service firms.
InterContinental Hanoi Westlake prepares for Kim Lien pagoda’s inauguration
InterContinental Hanoi Westlake hotel celebrated Responsible Business Day in partnership with National Geographic's Center to sustain and enhance their local destination. More than 100 volunteers coordinating with Australian Embassy, Ministry of Resources and Environment work for “Clean the world day” last September 18th. First constructed in year 1128, Kim Lien (Golden Lotus) Pagoda has undergone various stages of historical expansion works; the pagoda has just completed its two-year full-scale restoration project. In preparation of its official inauguration scheduled on 23rd September, a team of 50 volunteers from InterContinental Hanoi Westlake’s associate work force offered their service to conduct final cleaning and decoration of the pagoda.
