Poland LOT airline opened a direct flight from Hanoi – Warsaw. At 3pm, last November 14, the first flight from Warsaw landed in Noi Bai international airport – Hanoi. First passengers who connected two capital cities of two nations included Mr Nguyen Hoang –Vietnamese ambassador in Poland, mangers of LOTairline and Polish leading jazz artists performing on the 92th Polish Independence Day and 200 years of the Polish genius – F. Chopin’s birthday. The first flight from Hanoi to Warsaw also took off at 0:10am on November 15, 2010. Flights from Hanoi to Warsaw take off three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Flights from Warsaw to Hanoi will be on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The carrier uses Boeing 767-300 with a capacity of 225 for Economy class and 18 for Business class.

Opening flights from Hong Kong – Da Nang
Two months after four of Central Vietnam’s top properties partnered to form the Vietnam Golf Coast(www.vietnamgolfcoast.com), the country’s flagship carrier opened up the destination via Hong Kong. Vietnam Airlines (VNA) flies Tuesdays and Fridays between Southeast Asia’s busiest airport and Danang, fast becoming a tourist hot spot for its singular combination of unspoiled beaches, world-class resorts and brand-name golf courses. Commute time is approximately one hour and 40 minutes.

Vietnam’s top hotels dreaming of a bright Christmas
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Caravelle Hotel is planning the grandest festive celebrations in its long 51-year-history.  Further north, the Sheraton Nha Trang will be marking its first Christmas in the country’s top beach resort with a $10,000 extravaganza. Meanwhile, up in Hanoi, the Metropole will be marking the season with Francophone flair – a cornucopia of lights and the capital’s tallest Christmas tree counting among the hotel’s array of uplifting attractions.

Da Nang and Quang Nam’s hotel union support for Obstetrics – Pediatrics hospital in Da Nang
Furama Danang resort founded the hotel union of Quang Nam – Da nang and announced that they will provide sponsorship for room No 5, special care department of the new Obstetrics – Pediatrics hospital with an amount of USD $13,578 to support the concept “Advocating for future” for poor children. Responding to the contribution of the hotel union in Da Nang and Quang Nam, Danang’s City Administration and Department of Health awarded certificates of honor for all members of the union last October 28.

VinaCapital  Foundation performs charity
VinaCapital Foundation gave a cheque of USD $50,000 to Heartbeat Vietnam in the charity the “Heart 2 heart” concert at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi last month. The performance was sponsored by Katherine Yip-Geicke with the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO). Heartbeat Vietnam’s mission is to alleviate poverty and raise the status of the poor in Vietnam through medical and education programs across the country.

New coach for Da Nang Golf Club
Phil Wright has just joined the management team at Danang Golf Club. This Australian coach used to be a caddie of 1991 British Open champion Ian Baker-Finch. That led to an 11-year stint as the director of operations for Cheltenham Golf Club, in Australia's famous Sandbelt region.

“Enormous coffee filter” at Vietnam Coffee festival
In its last press conference, the organization board of the 3rd Vietnam coffee festival revealed that an enormous coffee filter, which can serve about 300 people, will appear. With a diameter of 2m and height of 5m, this filter will break the record at the 3rd Vietnam coffee festival with the theme: “the way coffee talks”. The festival also displays historical and cultural aspects of coffee: Ethiopia, where the first coffee was found – wild dance; ArabFrance, Italian, Holland and England – where coffee has its own style, both showy and lively. Coffee followed Europeans to travel around the world. Southeast Asia, especially Vietnam, is where the French grew coffee trees in the Highlands. The Vietnam coffee festival will take place at Buon Ma Thuot from March 10 – 13, 2011.
